We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings, and will be passionate about fostering the development of young learners. This role involves assisting with classroom management, providing individualized support to students, and contributing to the overall educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Reflect Christ’s love daily through your words, actions, and attitude.
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities that integrate biblical truth with academic learning.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce instruction and encourage growth.
- Support classroom routines such as transitions, clean-up, and preparing materials.
- Encourage children with patience, kindness, and understanding, helping them develop God-honoring behavior and strong character.
- Monitor student interactions to ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom.
- Assist with snack times, bathroom breaks, and other daily needs, always serving with a joyful heart.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with the lead teacher, staff, and families.
- Participate in school-wide activities, staff devotions, and other community-building events.
- Be flexible and willing to help wherever needed to support the mission of the school.
Qualifications:
- A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- High school diploma or equivalent (early childhood education coursework a plus)
- Previous experience working with young children in a school, church, or childcare setting preferred
- A servant’s heart, team-player attitude, and love for children
- Dependable, flexible, and emotionally mature
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
- Support the spiritual growth of children through prayer, Bible stories, worship, and Christ-centered conversations.
- Help maintain a classroom environment where God's love is evident, and grace is modeled.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed.
- Provide care for infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children in various educational settings.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff regarding student progress and needs.
Skills
- Experience working with children in various capacities such as childcare, daycare, or preschool settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with special education techniques and strategies for working with individuals with disabilities.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
- First aid certification is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators and support staff.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is an asset.
