What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Clark Community Mental Health?
The Custodian will assist the Maintenance Department will facility projects and cleanliness. This role will not be a typical business hours role and will require some nights and/or weekends to accommodate for the cleanliness of the facilities. This role is intended for 2p - 11p M-F.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain rotation of cleaning and sanitizing areas.
- Monitor trash cans and dumpsters.
- Assist Maintenance with grounds keeping to include mowing, lot clearing and trash.
- Use commercial equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, carpet cleaners
- Assist Maintenance with changing air filters and cleaning ventilation.
- Assist Maintenance with furniture assembly and installation.
- Light construction use of tools such as hammers, saws, drills and ladders.
- Other maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education – High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Skills/Abilities- Organization, Effective communication, Attention to detail, Juggle various maintenance tasks in a timely manner
- Valid MO Driver’s License
Working conditions
General Conditions- Work is generally performed indoors and outdoors. All weather conditions, medium heights and confined spaces can be expected. Tools, equipment and PPE will be provided.

General Conditions- Job duties may require sitting or standing for long periods of time. Lifting and moving may be expected requiring ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
