Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our corporate office in Rhinelander, WI. This individual will be responsible for processing payroll across multiple restaurants and providing weekly support to the accounting team. The ideal candidate brings experience with payroll, strong attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow. Accounting experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who is reliable, organized, and eager to contribute.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Prepare and process payroll accurately for multiple locations.
  • Enter and maintain employee changes (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments).
  • Maintain payroll records to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Respond to payroll questions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Accounting Support

  • Enter invoices, expenses, journal entries, and other accounting data.
  • Support month-end reconciliation and review account accuracy.
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of internal financial reports.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records.

General Office Support

  • Communicate effectively with Culver’s Owner/Operators and internal teams.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and financial information.
  • Assist with additional administrative or project-based tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in processing payroll required (multi-state preferred).
  • General accounting experience or education is a plus; willing to train.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
  • Professional and approachable communication style.
  • Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently when needed.


Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise from normal office activities. Occasional interruptions and distractions are inherent to a flex-space work environment.
