Our client, a highly respected plaintiff-side securities litigation firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Clerk to join its New York office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with strong docketing and calendaring experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced litigation environment.
The Litigation Clerk will partner closely with the Managing Clerk's Office and litigation teams to ensure compliance with court rules, maintain critical case deadlines, coordinate filings, and support the firm's active litigation practice across federal and state courts.
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Schedule: Full-Time | Non-Exempt | 3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote
Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Compensation: $40-45/hour
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain the firm's master litigation calendar and attorney-specific calendars
• Calculate and docket deadlines based on applicable court rules, statutes, and procedural requirements
• Monitor litigation matters and track case developments across federal and state courts
• Prepare customized docket and calendar reports for attorneys and litigation teams
• Respond to deadline-related inquiries and provide procedural guidance and rule interpretation
• Coordinate electronic and manual court filings, including service of court papers
• Utilize court systems and databases to obtain filings, docket updates, decisions, and orders
• Coordinate with outside vendors, process servers, and court service providers
• Assist with litigation audits, motion tracking, appeal tracking, and other special projects
• Maintain accurate time entries and provide general administrative support as needed
Ideal Background
• 4–6 years of litigation docketing, calendaring, or managing clerk experience within a law firm
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience using CourtAlert, CompuLaw, or similar litigation calendaring systems
• Familiarity with PACER, NYSCEF, and electronic filing procedures in federal and state courts
• Experience using Bloomberg Law, CourtLink, or other court research platforms
• Working knowledge of CPLR and FRCP
• Strong understanding of court rules, deadlines, and litigation procedures
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service mindset
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines
• Willingness to work overtime when business needs require
