Claritas is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to step into a broad and well-rounded role that makes a real impact across the employee lifecycle. This position is in Cincinnati, Ohio.
This role reports to a Human Resources Director and will work in recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, compliance, HR Information Systems, and culture initiatives. The Generalist role is an opportunity to sharpen your skills, take on new challenges, and work on a broad scope of responsibilities.
What you'll do:
- Support full-cycle recruiting: posting roles, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and helping managers make great hiring decisions
- Own new hire onboarding and help create a welcoming, organized first-90-days experience
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and day-to-day HR needs
- Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and leave management
- Maintain and update employee records and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality
- Support performance management processes, including tracking timelines and helping prepare materials for managers
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, culture events, and internal communications
- Partner with the HR team on special projects — process improvements, policy updates and more
- Help maintain and improve HR documentation, handbooks, and standard operating procedures
- 2 years of experience in an HR role (generalist, coordinator, or specialist background welcome)
- HS diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
- A genuine interest in people, problem-solving, and process improvement
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities at once
- Solid communication skills — you can explain policies clearly and handle sensitive conversations with discretion
- Working knowledge of HR fundamentals (employment law basics, benefits, recruiting)
- Comfort with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office programs; experience working in an HRIS platform such as Paycom, Paylocity, ADP, Ultipro, or similar.
- A team-player mindset with the flexibility to jump between strategic projects and day-to-day support
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or working toward certification a plus
