Position Summary:
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents in accordance with prescribed dietary needs and facility guidelines. The cook will ensure meals are prepared safely, on schedule, and with care to enhance the dining experience for residents.
Responsibilities:
Prepare meals and snacks according to menus, recipes, and resident dietary requirements.
Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Assist with menu planning as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food storage areas.
Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and staff to meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
Monitor food inventory, rotate stock, and report supply needs.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous cooking experience, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or institutional setting.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred:
Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or healthcare kitchen setting.
Current Food Handler’s certification.
