Job Title: Director of Development
Reports to: Vice President, Foundation and Development
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President, the Director of Development is responsible for managing a portfolio of donors and prospects, events and campaigns, collaborating with a small, agile team on the planning and execution of a comprehensive fundraising program, and implementing strategies to grow and strengthen the donor base to achieve the organization s fundraising objectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor s degree required
Five years progressive fundraising experience preferably in a healthcare or higher education setting
Proficient in Microsoft software applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Preferred:
- Masters degree preferred
- Knowledge of Raisers Edge and NXT preferred
Essential Functions:
Develop, manage and expand a portfolio of individuals and corporations, and manage overall donor pipelines; research prospects, create next steps for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
Plan, execute and oversee logistics and fundraising for the annual Golf Invitational/Tennis Open and A Tasteful Experience and organize cultivation and stewardship events
Manage event committees, timetables, action plans, communications, event set-up and achievement of event-related revenue and expense goals
Oversee the Employee Giving Campaign,
Coordinate with the VP to design and implement a Physician Philanthropy Program,
Expand and manage the Grateful Patient Program
Work with department managers across the Medical Center to identity funding opportunities for programs, equipment, technology, capital improvements among other priorities
Work with VP to develop tours that align with donor interests and Medical Center needs
Develop and implement plans and corresponding materials for donor recognition including giving level recognition policies
Collaborate, as needed, with RWJBH Foundation central services team including Grants, Annual Giving, Stewardship, Development and Strategic Initiatives, Database Management, Finance, Planned Giving and Prospect Research
Assist VP with projects and assignments as needed
