Clara Barton Hospital is an acute care facility licensed for 25 beds.
The Dietary Department is responsible to provide meals in a clean,
pleasant atmosphere for patients, family members, staff and medical
personnel.
Essential Functions

Requires full range of motion including; balancing, fingering, pulling,
pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, kneeling,
reaching, lifting, repetitive motion. Essential sensory and
communicative activities include feeling, seeing, speaking, hearing,
smelling and tasting. Ability to lift small kitchen equipment as needed.
Standing and walking for extensive periods are required. Must be able to
lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to stand, lift
moderate weights, pull and push items. Normal corrected vision and
hearing is required. Must have ability to work under stressful
conditions and have the ability to work irregular hours. Must work under
conditions of sudden changes in temperatures when entering refrigerated
areas or working around serving counters and cooking equipment.

Frequent contact with patients, physician, nursing staff, families of
patients, office personnel and other CBH staff members.
Environment
Individuals in this position will be exposed to the following
environmental conditions when performing duties: inside and outside
environmental conditions such as chemical hazards, respiratory hazards
and extreme cold in temperature when entering refrigerated areas.
Subject to burns from hot foods and utensils, cuts from knives, and the
possibility of injury from falls on slippery floors.

- Follows patient menus accurately in the patients tray line
- Assists in preparing Meals on Wheels trays for volunteers
- Assists in unloading clean dishes and putting them in appropriate
- Assists in sweeping and mopping kitchen floor
- Is responsible for making coffee/tea/cookies, as needed
- Cleans work areas, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas, and

- Is responsible for washing dishes, cookware(pots/pans), flatware,
- Is responsible for answering the telephone, as needed
- Assists in the delivering of snacks/beverage to the floor as needed
- Assists in unloading groceries and restocking in appropriate
- Sets up trays, wraps silverware for meals and wipes out food cart
- Fills walk-in cooler with juices and soda pop; fills cracker and
- Assists co-workers, as needed
- Will assist with cooking on an as needed limited basis.

- Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to

- Must be able to use tools and equipment required
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Must have the ability to stand, stoop, lift moderate weights, and
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of six months prior experience in a food service department
- Certificate of Food Safety (Serve Safe) a plus and/or must be
