Business Continuity Analyst

12 month contract
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Continuity Analyst who can ensure that the organization can continue operating during and after a disruption. The BCA will be responsible for devising, implementing, and managing strategies to maintain essential functions and recover swiftly from unforeseen events. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication. The incumbent will have a strong Business Continuity Program background as well as excellent documentation, communication, and execution skills required to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, engineers, operations staff, and other technology and business professionals to deliver defined objectives. Limited project management support may be needed.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment and Analysis
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities that could impact business operations.
- Partner with business stakeholders to conduct thorough risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIAs) to determine the effects of disruptions.
- Evaluate the likelihood of various types of crises and their potential impact on different areas of the organization.
Continuity Planning
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop and maintain comprehensive business continuity plans (BCPs) that outline procedures for responding to disruptions.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure all critical functions are covered in the BCPs.
- Facilitate regular updates and testing of the BCPs to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
Training and Awareness
- Conduct training sessions for employees to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities during a disruption.
- Develop and distribute educational materials to raise awareness about business continuity practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of prior experience as a business analyst, especially in the Business Continuity Management domain with experience in Business Impact Analysis, DR planning, etc.
- Ability to apply business practices in the context of requirements gathering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the key components of project management (e.g., scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, integration) and associated tools and methodologies.
- Initiative-taker and driven to win.

- Experience with process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP).
- Experience in cybersecurity preferred.
Pay: $60.00 - $72.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Work Location: In person
