We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our Orlando, FL team. This position is responsible for the on-site leadership and coordination of all phases of major commercial construction projects, ensuring work proceeds safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards and project specifications.
The Construction Superintendent serves as the primary field representative, responsible for managing day-to-day construction operations, directing subcontractors and field staff, and maintaining open communication with clients, designers, and internal project teams. This role ensures that all field activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and coordination for all on-site construction activities, serving as the primary field contact for the project team.
Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contractual documents, specifications, and quality standards.
Partner with the Corporate EHS Director and local EHS Coordinator to maintain a safe jobsite throughout the project’s duration.
Enforce safety, security, and quality control programs on site, including identifying and correcting any subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, or environmental standards.
Participate in preconstruction sessions to develop realistic schedules and budgets.
Facilitate weekly progress meetings with the design team, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.
Maintain and distribute jobsite documentation including daily reports, QC/QA logs, and inspection records.
Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Schedule and direct daily construction activities to ensure timely completion of work.
Oversee punch list development, completion, and project closeout activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times.
Qualifications / Skills and Knowledge Requirements
OSHA 30 and CPR Certifications required.
Minimum 1–5 years of progressive experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Project Superintendent with a mid- to large-size commercial general contractor.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the construction industry.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Strong computer skills, including construction management software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD and scheduling software is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal skill to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
