Who you are:
The General Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring a superior guest experience through excellent hospitality and service. The General Manager partners with the kitchen management team to set, meet, and exceed the goals of the business by ensuring alignment with the mission and goals of the business and the vision and core values of Clancy’s Hospitality. The General Manager must possess strong leadership skills, a friendly yet competitive spirit, and a passion for hospitality, building high-performing teams, and delivering hospitality to all.
What you'll do:
- Consistently deliver a culture of hospitality to guests and team members
- Lead the management team and team members in delivering consistent, memorable moments of hospitality for our guests
- Collaborate with management team to keep a continuous pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and strengthen a devoted base of regulars
- Consistently offers positive and constructive feedback to drive a high-performing team dedicated to hospitality, excellence, and achievement of business goals
- Fosters a close partnership with the kitchen management team, ensuring alignment on business goals and initiatives
- Provides coaching and guidance to all team members, ensuring that pathways for growth and development are attainable for all
- Consistently looks for internal and external opportunities to build our growing team in alignment with our goals of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- Balance day-to-day operational and administrative responsibilities with excellence, using sound judgement to make decisions that are best for both the short term and long-term health of the business
- Builds an infrastructure and foundation for operational excellence through clarity of roles, goals, and resources, ensuring that all systems and processes are efficient and accessible
Serves as a voice of Clancy’s Hospitality and the restaurant to the community, neighborhood associations, vendors and others.
- Grow “Gen Next” leaders for Clancy’s Hospitality.
- In conjunction with designated annual review periods, analyze and approve all pay increases.
- Attract talent through networking relationships and current staff.
- Interview candidates that are curiously intelligent with a passion for our industry.
- Educate hiring managers on best practices for interviewing and hiring.
- Lead managers to ensure the excellence of front of house-training programs.
- Lead managers to coordinate and ensure the excellence of daily and monthly training.
- With management team, drive balanced house schedule that drives efficiencies and guest raves while celebrating succession and growth.
Leads the larger leadership team with a clear message, sound judgement, patient persistence and generous feedback.
- Ensure every employee has the capacity to be one of the top three performers on their team in both Hospitality and Excellence.
- Build the culture of enlightened hospitality by ensuring excellent hiring practices, training, and work environment.
- Assure that Guest Experience initiatives are fostered in reservations and service process.
- Be attentive and adjust every aspect of the guest experience as needed to ensure excellence.
- Direct entire management team in strengthening relationships with regular guests.
- Serve as an outward facing ambassador of the Restaurant to the community.
- Actively encourage new, local, community service initiative ideas at the restaurant level and engage staff participation.
- Direct management team to continuously generate raves from guests.
Relevant Knowledge, Skills, & Ability:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/oral/listening)
- Excellent understanding of Clancy’s Hospitality culture/philosophy
- Excellent dining room and facilities operations knowledge
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge, specifically in beer, wine and spirits
- Multi-tasking
- Problem solving & delegation
- Initiative & follow through
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
- Understanding of restaurant POS system
What we need from you:
- 2 years dining room experience in hospitality & casual dining, management experience preferred
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge
- Strong passion for and skill in education
- Excellent verbal & written communication
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job
- English fluency and Spanish preferred
