The Bilingual Production Supervisor will lead day-to-day manufacturing operations within a hands-on production environment focused on display assembly. This role is responsible for supervising union, non-union, and temporary staff, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across the department.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across union, non-union, and temporary staff
- Ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and production equipment to meet output and cost targets
- Prepare daily production startup plans and monitor production performance and efficiency
- Track and report on production progress, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals
- Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, and operational data
- Train, coach, and evaluate production team members to improve performance and output
- Foster a positive team environment, maintaining morale and accountability across the workforce
- Partner with leadership on hiring decisions, promotions, and performance management
- Ensure proper inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
- Identify and recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and operational efficiencies
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Support implementation of new production methods and processes in partnership with engineering
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols
- Actively participate in safety initiatives and committees
- Communicate effectively with leadership on production status, risks, and opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment (retail display or similar industry preferred)
- Experience working with union and non-union teams strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of production processes such as printing, assembly, kitting, and finishing is a plus
- Familiarity with equipment such as stitchers, gluers, and adhesive applicators preferred
- Ability to read and understand production workflows and line setups
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook required)
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to operate with a high level of ownership
