What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audio Department Head - Clearwing position at Clair Global?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Audio Department Head assumes primary responsibility for managing everyday operations of all areas of the audio team: speakers, amps, drive racks, consoles etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Employee Supervision
- Supervise training of new hires in the Audio Department
- Supervise Audio departments
- Provide employee coaching and resolve department and employee issues
- Perform annual employee appraisals
- Department Management
- Input into ERP software to accurately track, manage, and utilize company owned assets
- Coordination of company inventory between departments and other offices, utilizing gear to its fullest capacity on a global scale
- Ensure that equipment leaves the shop at or above company standards, within the constraints of the client's specifications including the responsibility to meet client specific deadlines
- Coordinate the warehouse flow of inbound and outbound gear with other departments
- Develop and/or improve packaging of Clair systems
- Collaborate on a regular basis with Clair operations personnel
- Forecast staffing and labor needs during peak seasons
- Perform such other duties and functions as required from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to various groups of internal and external customers
- The ability to maintain confidentiality when necessary
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage and lead various departments by establishing goals and providing direction
- Advanced knowledge of signal flow principals
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively and efficiently
- Must be available by phone or email during off hours
- Must be computer literate with a willingness to improve knowledge base moving forward
- Familiar with the use of usual office machinery, timecard systems, and a security system
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with audio electronics, console, speakers, amps, RF, and comm systems
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and coaching employees
