Responsibilities
- Performs testing as per test plans according to MIL-STD's, DO-160, Bellcore, EN, FCC, and other national and international standards.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply test standards, EMC testing techniques, test procedures and criteria, using your judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Understanding EMC theory as it relates to testing, troubleshooting, and retrofitting.
- An EMC Engineer's assignments usually include: troubleshooting and retrofitting a design to comply with standards using filters, ferrite's or grounding principles, preparation of test specifications, research investigations, report preparation and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed by EMC Engineers.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or four years of specific EMC test experience or equivalent.
- Operation of spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, pre-amplifiers, antennas, multi-meter, and other diagnostic test equipment for performing EMC measurements between 9 kHz and 40 GHz. May take responsibility for calibrations of antennas, site's, LISN's, pre-amps, cables, current probes, injections probes, CDN's, and other lab equipment.
- Experienced and skilled in Microsoft Windows, MS Word Excel and other Windows programs.
