Lynx Cat Mountain Quarry supplies rock and aggregate products to customers in the High Desert. Our goal is to produce products that will consistently meet or exceed our customer’s specifications. We help get military, commercial, residential, or municipal projects started and completed using the finest aggregate materials in the high desert. We’re located in Hinkley, CA, near Barstow in Southern California.
Job Description:
Lynx Cat Mountain Quarry is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators with a solid background in rock plant operations. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery, such as loaders, dozers, and excavators, to efficiently produce aggregate materials and support daily plant operations.
The ideal candidate has rock plant experience, knowledge of safe operation procedures, understands quarrying practices, and is skilled in performing routine maintenance on equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment to efficiently and safely load, unload, and transport materials.
- Comply with MSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Inspect equipment and conduct basic maintenance on machinery.
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality and output. Identify and report any deviations from quality standards.
- Manage stockpiles and monitor material levels
- Maintain effective communication with other team members to ensure seamless operation.
- Routinely climbs ladders; lifts, carries, and moves materials weighing 50 lbs.
- Assist with general plant operations and perform other tasks as needed.
“Fit for Duty” Requirements:
- Medical Fitness: Applicants to whom the Company makes an offer must pass a “Fitness for Duty” examination. The FFD examination may include a physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and respiratory function testing.
- Essential Functions: Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, which include, but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Failure to pass the “Fitness for Duty” examination and /or to demonstrate the ability to safely perform essential functions, may result in the Company withdrawing an offer of employment.
Qualifications:
- One year of rock quarry experience preferred.
- Crusher and screen operation, maintenance and repair a plus.
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery in a rock quarry.
- Familiarity with aggregate production processes and material handling.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance.
- Commitment to safety.
- MSHA certification is preferred but not required.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
