The Underground Wet Utility Foreman is a Working Foreman who also plans, coordinates, and manages onsite excavation crew to meet the daily and weekly goals for maximum productivity while maintaining budgetary constraints. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate and skillfully maneuver Heavy Equipment such as Loaders, skid steer, skip loader, Compactors, Excavators.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps and blueprints or drawings to move soil to defined specifications.
- Utilize the appropriate and/or assigned construction machinery to safely, efficiently and productively excavate, move and grade soils in accordance with the defined parameters.
- Oversee the progress of underground construction sites.
- The intermediary between workers and supervisors while running the job site.
- Scheduling and planning the underground work for the day.
- Assigning tasks to field employees.
- Utilizing the correct machinery at the job site
- Making sure the excavating project is being completed in a timely matter.
- Overseeing and implementing health and safety procedures on the job.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
2-5 years of experience as a Underground Foreman. Knowledge of job sites, crews, heavy civil construction, and excavating projects.

- Reference and prior work verification.
- Drug/alcohol test (negative test results).
