Compensation: $80,000 – $150,000 DOE
Civil Werx is a growing heavy civil contractor performing both public and private work throughout the Treasure Valley. Our projects focus on mass grading, wet utilities (water, sewer, storm), and fine grading for residential and commercial site development.
We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to support our expanding backlog and help us pursue high-quality civil work. This role plays a critical part in winning projects and ensuring smooth handoff from estimating to operations.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects
- Develop competitive bids for mass grading, underground utilities, and fine grading
- Build project budgets and preliminary estimates from limited design information
- Track and follow up on submitted bids to help secure awarded work
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations Managers on:
- Scope clarification
- Project handoff
- Change orders and plan revisions
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Monitor material pricing, labor trends, and market conditions
- Support business development through bid strategy and client interaction
- Prepare estimates using Sage and industry takeoff software such as Agtek, PlanSwift, Carlson, or similar
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of grading, earthwork, and wet utilities
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D plans
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software
- Strong Excel and general computer skills
- Clear communicator with good organizational and time-management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred, not required)
- OSHA knowledge; OSHA 30 preferred
