We’re seeking a Contracting Director to lead and optimize our contracting functions, ensuring timely, compliant acquisition of supplies and services for our National Headquarters, eight regions, and 52 wings across the country.
Salary Range
$105,000 – $127,000 (annually), based on experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain contracting policies aligned with CAP objectives, OMB guidance, and FAR requirements.
- Lead negotiations for competitive and sole-source acquisitions.
- Perform cost and price analysis to ensure compliance and value.
- Select appropriate contract types and pricing arrangements for complex requirements.
- Oversee contract issuance, funding obligations, audits, and compliance.
- Serve as an internal contracting subject matter expert and advisor.
- Manage vendor audits and internal contract training programs.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in operational contracting (services, construction, commodities, IT).
- Technical Skills: Expertise in contract methods, bid evaluation, policy development, and Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP systems.
- Certifications: Contracting Level II Certification and/or Grants Management Certificate.
- Other: Valid driver’s license; ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
