Job Role - Lead Physical Therapist
Location- El Cajon | San Diego, CA
Compensation - Salary Benefits Bonus
We are seeking a Lead Physical Therapist to support young children (ages 0–3) with developmental delays in an early intervention setting. This leadership role combines direct therapy services with staff mentorship and program support.
You will provide hands-on treatment, conduct developmental evaluations, collaborate with families, and guide a team of early intervention professionals to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Review intake and background information
- Conduct developmental and functional movement evaluations
- Develop treatment plans and assist with Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
- Provide home-based therapy sessions
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and case notes
- Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team members
- Travel within assigned county to provide services in homes and community settings
Leadership & Mentorship
- Train and mentor clinical staff
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and staff observations
- Provide feedback on documentation and reports
- Design and lead in-service trainings
- Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current California Physical Therapy license
- Master’s degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program
- Minimum one year of experience with developmental disabilities
- Minimum one year of pediatric experience (birth to 5 years)

- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Cultural sensitivity and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- DOJ criminal record clearance
- Valid California Driver’s License with safe driving record (licensed at least two years)
- Current auto insurance
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
