Community School Coordinator
As directed by Civic Works, Inc., in partnership with REACH! Partnership High School, the Coordinator of Community and Family Engagement, will be responsible for creating a positive environment for the mental and physical health of the students and families, build partnerships with local businesses, and implement community school strategies to improve student achievement and intervention services. The community school coordinator will work in partnership with the school principal, the administrative team and the school community to assess the needs of the REACH! community to help eliminate barriers to academic success for students and families. Experience in the following is preferred: relationship management, partnership development, student and family support, family and community engagement, stakeholder engagement, resource planning and excellent tracking/reporting skills.
Essential Duties:
Serve as the liaison between the school and external partners, family and community engagement, youth development, and school-based teams (school leadership, student support team, attendance team, and school family council)
In partnership with the school leadership team, conduct needs assessment, resource mapping and implementation plans to meet the needs of the school.
Implement school strategies that align with the school's policies and goals in relation to climate, attendance, behavior and achievement.
Facilitate communication, planning and collaboration among partners.
Cultivates new and strengthen existing school community partnerships to leverage additional resources to address identified challenges that impact the school community in the areas of physical & mental health, family support, community engagement, academics/education, and youth development.
Build awareness and expand the reach of the community through strategic communications and community engagement efforts that work to elevate the stories and voice of the youth and families served by the school and community resources.
Develop relationships with partners by organizing and participating in regular partner meetings and other opportunities for information sharing and relationship building that foster shared ownership and responsibility.
Manages the service coordination of school-based support, including the tracking and monitoring of data to support strategy implementation and evaluation.
Adhere to and promote the compliance of federal and state laws, school board policies and the professional standards of the school, including all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies.
Qualifications
At least two years of experience working with urban public -school systems, including development and implementation of youth development programs, community organizing, and family engagement.
Experience cultivating academic partnerships for powerful learning experiences, creating integrated health and social support, and authentically engaging families and communities for student and school success.
Experience developing and facilitating training, meetings, and/or professional development to expand the capacity of internal and external stakeholder groups.
Experience conducting needs assessments and using data to develop, implement, and adapt action plans and strategies.
Capacity to develop effective working relationships with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds to ensure the success of all children.
Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively.
Proficient with Microsoft office, database systems, data analysis, etc.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
