Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Automotive Assistant Service Manager to join our fast-paced service team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily service operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, and maintaining efficient workflow within the service department. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and dealership experience will drive success in delivering top-quality vehicle repairs and maintenance. Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in coordinating daily service department activities, including scheduling appointments and managing workflow.
- Supervise tire & service technicians, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality control, and efficient repair processes.
- Engage with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, provide clear explanations of repairs needed, and promote additional services through up selling techniques.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repair estimates, and service writing to ensure accurate communication of work required.
- Support the team in performing a wide range of automotive repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, suspension, alignment, and tire services.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of service orders and billing processes.
- Foster a positive team environment by mentoring staff and encouraging continuous improvement in automotive repair skills and customer service.
Skills
- Proven automotive experience with a strong background in auto service management.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including oil changes, brake systems, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, and auto body repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing to accurately document repairs and generate invoices.
- Ability to up sell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Experience with mechanic tasks such as vehicle maintenance checks and diagnosing complex automotive issues.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for cash handling and record keeping.
- Knowledge of automotive & tire sales processes is a plus for promoting vehicle-related products or upgrades.
