Senior Marketing Leader (Director Level)

Reports to: Executive Leadership
Pay Rate: $170,000-$190,000 yearly

Our client, a local food brand with national reach is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead the next phase of growth as the company expands its presence into new business verticals. This role will be responsible for shaping brand strategy, driving demand, and executing integrated marketing initiatives that support both near-term growth and long-term brand equity.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy to support expansion into broader retail channels both nationally and internationally.
- Partner with executive leadership to align brand positioning, growth objectives, and go-to-market strategies
- Translate business goals into clear, actionable marketing plans with defined KPIs
Brand & Communications
- Oversee brand storytelling, messaging, and positioning across all channels
- Ensure consistent brand expression across packaging, digital, retail, and promotional touchpoints
- Guide product launches, rebrands, or line extensions as needed
Demand Generation & Growth
- Drive integrated marketing campaigns that support retail sell-in and sell-through
- Oversee consumer, trade, and shopper marketing initiatives
- Collaborate with sales and retail partners to support merchandising, promotions, and in-store execution
Channel & Performance Marketing
- Lead digital marketing strategy including paid media, owned channels, and content
- Use data and insights to optimize performance, allocate budgets, and improve ROI
- Stay current on evolving marketing tools, platforms, and best practices
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team
- Manage external partners including agencies, consultants, and vendors
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, operations, and finance
Execution & Operations
- Balance big-picture planning with hands-on involvement in campaign development and execution
- Manage marketing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
- Establish processes that support scalability and accountability
Qualifications & Experience
- 5–7 years of experience at leadership level within marketing
- Experience in food, beverage, grocery, consumer packaged goods, or adjacent consumer brands strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in brand building, growth marketing, and retail expansion
- Exposure to both larger, structured environments and smaller, more entrepreneurial ones.
- A history of working closely with executive leadership and cross‑functional partners.
- Proven ability to lead strategy while remaining deeply involved in execution
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
