Key Responsibilities of the Real Estate Paralegal:
- Coordinate and support all phases of real estate transactions and closings
- Order, review, and summarize title commitments, surveys, and related due diligence materials
- Prepare and assist with the review of deeds, easements, leases, purchase and sale agreements, escrow instructions, and other transactional documents
- Organize and prepare loan documentation, including promissory notes, guarantees, and financing-related materials
- Conduct UCC, bankruptcy, judgment, and other public record searches
- Prepare entity formation documents, corporate governance records, and authorizing resolutions related to transactions
- Maintain closing checklists, transaction timelines, and critical deadlines to ensure smooth execution
- Coordinate with attorneys, lenders, title companies, buyers, sellers, and third parties throughout the transaction process
- Assist with settlement statement review and closing package preparation
- Organize, maintain, and manage transaction files and document management systems
- Monitor multiple transactions simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all tasks
Qualifications Required of the Real Estate Paralegal:
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience supporting real estate transactions
- Commercial real estate experience preferred; candidates with strong residential or general real estate law experience are encouraged to apply
- Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing transactions, and real estate closings
- Strong understanding of title review, due diligence procedures, and closing processes
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and managing transactional and corporate governance documents
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service and confidentiality
