The City of Worthington is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Director of Information Technology. This highly responsible position evaluates new technologies and provides strategic technical guidance and direction to senior level management.
The Director of Information Technology directs the technology activities of the City and serves as a key member of the senior leadership team. Serving under the direction of the City Manager and Assistant City Manager, the IT Director provides strategic guidance, operational support, and cybersecurity services to all City departments and employees. This position plays a central role in supporting City staff and serving residents through reliable, secure, and effective technology systems.
Key responsibilities include daily IT operations management; strategic technology planning and roadmap development; cybersecurity and risk management; evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence; oversight of life safety and critical systems; technology architecture and solution design; project and budget management; vendor procurement and contract oversight; staff leadership and development; and organization-wide technology support and service delivery.
