What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Swim Instructor position at City of Winchester?
- Ability to teach individuals of all ages how to swim, accident prevention techniques, water and safety procedures
- Educate class participants on the rules of the parks and recreation facility
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including communication skills with students, family members, guardians, and facility staff
- Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity following the City’s Ethics Policy and expectations
- Inspecting pool equipment and reporting maintenance issues
- Maintaining pool deck cleanliness, including cleaning spills, sweeping debris, emptying skimmer baskets, brushing pool walls, emptying trash cans, and completing other cleaning tasks as needed
- Contributes to a positive work environment
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Basic Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor certification through the American Red Cross preferred. Lifeguard/first aid, CPR professional rescuer, and AED certified through the American Red Cross also preferred.
