The hiring range for this position is $42,942.69 (minimum salary) to $59,138.61 (midpoint of range) dependent upon qualifications.
The purpose of this position is to perform administrative and secretarial duties in support of the Police department. Successful performance facilitates the operation of the division and of the department.
The work consists of related technical and secretarial duties. The volume of work contributes to the complexity of the work.

Major Duties
- Answers incoming calls and forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Assists officers by running warrant and utilities checks.
- Assists walk-in customers and refers them to appropriate personnel.
- Enters reports into the computer system; processes, copies and distributes reports, eCitation forms and subpoenas.
- Performs weekly warrant audits.
- Completes police reports and files as appropriate.
- Enters warrant information.
- Researches criminal histories for District Attorney or police officers.
- Orders, restocks, and maintains supplies.
- Processes all daily RMS Name Candidate Queries
- Processes all District Attorney Reports and other related paperwork
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Guidelines include the department Policies and Procedures Manual and supervisory instructions. These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.

- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of modern hard copy and electronic records maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of department and city policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of police department reports and legal terminology.
- Skill in the operation of a computer and other modern office equipment.
- Skill in filing and records maintenance.
- Skill in preparing reports and entering data.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- The work is typically performed in an office, while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching.
- The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
Salary : $42,943 - $59,139
