Workdays and Hours - This is a part-time position with hours scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with the exact schedule determined at the time of hire.

- Performs intern-level work assigned by the department.
- Completion of work assignments may require operation of a vehicle.

- Ability to use a computer to access, interpret and record information
- Ability to lean and reach as needed to read and interpret plans and specifications from a print that may be as large as 36 by 48 inches with information printed as small as 20 characters per inch
- May require ability to research, analyze, summarize and report findings
- May require ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- May require ability to tolerate airborne nuisances associated with open grounds, construction and windy conditions
- May require ability to cover uneven terrain, go up and down stairs, and otherwise maneuver around construction sites
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, representatives of other organizations, and/or the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements for the specific internship assignment
- May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License.

Required Experience and Training
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Training
- Current enrollment in a degree program in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, Public Administration, or Public Policy.
- A current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- One (1) year of experience working in a professional office, public sector, or customer-facing environment.
