BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to answer multiple telephone lines, gather information, answer questions, and dispatch calls to the appropriate employees, crews, or units. This is accomplished by answering incoming calls, gathering information from callers, entering information in logs or posting work orders, dispatching calls, paging repair or service employees or crews, monitoring equipment, maintaining call records, performing general office duties, and completing related tasks. Additional duties include entering information, maintaining records, and filing.

Pre-employment test keyboarding (typing speed) minimum score is (35).
This position has been deemed Mission Essential and will be required to report to work during all inclement weather conditions.

2 S Answers incoming phones calls by receiving inquiries from the public for various requests which could include animal control services, transportation requests or scheduling or utility repairs or maintenance, gathering information from callers, contacting departments, employees, work units or crews, and scheduling service or dispatching information for service or repairs.
3 S Provides radio dispatch by dispatching appropriate units to calls upon assessment of circumstances and the acquiring of information, determining appropriate department or crew for response, maintaining communications with personnel in the field, maintaining, sending and confirmation information to assist with each circumstance, and monitoring other calls.
4 S Maintains records by entering information into databases, submitting reports as required, and recording and filing documents.
5 S Completes routine general office duties by maintaining a variety of official logs; contacting other departments to obtain or provide pertinent information, typing, filing, and answering general inquiries.
