BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to manage all activities for the landfill, ensure compliance with all state and federal landfill regulations, and to prevent the introduction of hazardous water materials into the landfill and the surrounding areas. This is accomplished by planning and organizing all landfill operations, supervising and assigning tasks, coordinating all disposal of refuse and ensuring all equipment and vehicles are operational. Other duties include coordinating special projects.

Must possess a Municipal Solid Waste Class A License (MSW A) from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality or able to obtain one within the minimum time requirement to qualify for one.

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice.
2 L Prepares and monitors the annual budget by researching and recommending expenditures, staffing levels and capital expenses, monitoring expenditures, purchasing equipment and supplies, and analyzing purchases.
3 L Provides environmental oversight for the landfill by inspecting disposal operations, participating in inspections, initiating corrective actions for any noted deficiencies, initiating preventive actions for potential problem areas, and preparing regular environment monitoring reports.
4 L Coordinates all landfill activities by assigning and scheduling tasks, analyzing work schedules and equipment utilized, monitoring assigned work completion activities, and training new employees.
