Description Of Duties/Essential Functions
Under immediate supervision, for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months, participates in an Agency sponsored training program, receiving training and controlled working assignments designed to develop broad knowledge, understanding, and practical skills necessary to perform the duties of a journeyman Revenue Special Agent assigned to a Riverboat Casino; actively participates in mandatory police academy training; performs segments of the more difficult background and enforcement investigations under close supervision of a higher level officer.
Minimum Requirements
Requires completion of four years of college, with major coursework in law enforcement, business administration, pre-law or related areas; up to two years of police investigative or enforcement experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the college training; requires successful completion of a firearms qualification course during first 12 months of employment; requires a valid Illinois driver’s license; requires elementary knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices; requires elementary knowledge of the criminal justice system as it relates to investigations. Requires ability to successfully complete the mandatory police academy training. Physical requirements are: ability to stand for long periods of time, extensive walking, ability to lift and reach above shoulder level and willingness to travel frequently, often keeping irregular hours.
