The City Engineer is responsible for reviewing, approving, and managing the design, construction, and compliance of private development projects within the city. This role involves coordinating with private developers, ensuring that all infrastructure work (including roads, utilities, drainage, and public amenities) meets the city's standards and regulatory requirements. The City Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of the community while ensuring that private projects align with the city's planning and safety standards.

This is a single-incumbent professional classification. The employee receives general supervision from the Senior Director of Public Works and Engineering and may supervise engineers and/or technicians.
