Summary
Manages all phases of engineering design, capital and development plan review, construction inspection, surveying, mapping for the Engineering Services division and services as the City Flood Plain Administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing commercial and residential development plans for compliance with applicable development regulations and standards.
- Providing leadership, direction, and guidance to engineering staff and support personnel engaged in the development, planning, design, and inspection of public improvement/construction projects.
- Coordinating work of the department in the division.
- Reviewing work in progress and upon completion at work sites.
- Managing the assignment and scheduling of projects.
- Manage Engineering budget.
- Assist Department of Public Works and Development Services with preparation and execution of CIP projects, contract administration, and attend interagency meetings.
- Manage and supervise all Engineering, Construction Inspection, and Project Management staff.
- Management of Floodplain Administration.
- Development Review Committee (DRC) meeting and follow-up with requested information.
- Direct Construction Inspectors and Project Managers to assure conformance to standards and development acceptance by the City.
- Manage MS4 Stormwater Permit Program.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Direct and evaluate the activities of the Engineering division including planning, supervising, and coordinating design, construction, and maintenance of the City's infrastructure.Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Civil Engineering; or ten to twelve years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Required: EIT Certification and a Valid State Driver's License.
Preferred: A PE certification
