Solid Waste Driver - Collections | City of Watertown

Public Works; Solid Waste Division

Grade: 130

Salary: Grade 130 / Step 1 = $50,606.40 per year or $4,217.20 per month

Daily Routes: 4 - 10's; 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The facility is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs manual labor and equipment operation to assist with the collection of residential solid waste and recycling materials for the City.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/equivalent with one (1) year experience operating trucks and heavy equipment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Welding/fabrication experience.
• Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems experience.
• Valid Class B CDL without air brake restriction at time of hire. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to obtain valid Class B CDL without air brake restriction within 6 months of hire.
• First Aid and CPR certification upon hire. Veteran’s preference points are acknowledged in the City’s hiring process. The City of Watertown’s Personnel Policy, including the City’s policy on Nepotism, can be obtained at the City Finance Office or on our website at www.watertownsd.us.
