Librarian IV - Branch Manager - duties include but are not limited to:
• Serves as the Program and Community Outreach (PCO) Manager while overseeing the daily operations of one of the PCO service divisions (youth, teen, adult, or technology education).
• Directly supervises Library Program Coordinators in the Program and Community Outreach division.
• Responsible for ensuring safe, clean, welcoming spaces, collections, and services for customers via the library's mobile pop-up library vehicle fleet. Oversees services to customers across the entire geographic reach of the City of Virginia Beach including adult housing centers, preschools, housing communities, and schools, with a focus on reaching diverse and underserved populations.
• Coordinates programming services across 10 Library branches and internal work units and sets departmental program priorities with programming attendance reaching over 8,000 citizens monthly.
• Coordinates Library partnership, with a focus on serving under-served populations through programming and services.
• Represents the department in the acquisition of external grant funds, leading the acquisition of more than $100,000 annually.
• Collaborates with Occupational Health and Safety to ensure departmental safety and security on fleet vehicles and within partner facilities.
• Coordinates Service Agreement contracts to ensure legal sufficiency for all library system presenters.
• Plans, leads, manages, and evaluates the delivery of library services, programming, and the general operations of the library's outreach vehicle fleet and bookmobile, and in outreach locations such as senior centers, preschools, housing communities, and schools.
• Serves on the Library Branch Program Coordinator Team representing Programming and Community Outreach.
Performs other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs
