What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional II position at City of Virginia Beach?
The City of Virginia Beach Human Services Department is recruiting for a Part-time Direct Support Professional II. The selected candidate will serve adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within a residential setting.
Specific duties include but are not limited too:
Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to 12 assigned participants.
Assist with meal preparation, hygiene care, and activities of daily living.
Complete all required documentation to show progress or regression towards the participant’s Outcomes, Activities and Essential Supports within the quality and deadlines outlined in regulation and policy.by the end of shift.
Complete all required billing processes to ensure the program accurately and ethically bills for services provided.
Maintain the health, safety, and well-being of all participants in the program based on each participant’s ISP.
Prepare or review the medication administration record prior to implementation to ensure all entries match the physician’s orders and that all necessary medications are on-site, available, and appropriately labeled.
Check or verify medications delivered for accuracy and report inaccuracies immediately to the pharmacy and /or the Case Coordinator.
Actively provide input into ongoing needs and resource identification processes. Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities.
