The Administrative Office serves and supports staff at all levels of the organization in their efforts to develop and promote Virginia Beach as a first-class, year-round travel destination and acts as stewards of city and departmental resources.
A successful candidate for the Business Applicant Specialist II position will have excellent oral and written communication skills, be proficient in the use of MS office and CRM database systems such as Simpleview, Momentus/Ungerboeck Systems International (EBMS), or similar CRM systems, as well as experience using various reporting applications and Dashboards.
• Manage Simpleview CRM Databases (one of the department’s CRM databases), including dashboards, customizations, upgrades, reporting, permissions/access, and troubleshooting; work independently and/or in conjunction with department staff and vendors, as appropriate.
• Execute Simpleview database strategies
• Track trends and improve sales processes relative to the Simpleview database
• Develop and deliver ongoing training calendar, specifically for Simpleview
• Oversight of business, operational and security applications; work independently and/or in coordination with other staff, vendors, and/or ComIT, as appropriate
• Participate in departmental strategic IT planning
• Evaluate business processes for optimization, leveraging CRMs and other technology
• Evaluate new technology requests/initiatives; compile research and allow for decision-making from a departmental perspective
• Procurement of departmental technology goods and services
• Assist with departmental technology budget
• Manage departmental technology inventory, including 30 iPad and cellular phone devices (not supported by CityIT)
• Manage departmental computer replacement
• Serve as departmental liaison to City Information Technology
• Establish and enforce departmental IT processes and guidelines
• Supervise the departments’ Business Application Specialist I, including scheduling, performance, and discipline, as required (includes oversight of multiple Convention Center applications for the Business, Event/Sales and Operations teams, particularly the Momentus CRM)
• Assist CVB users with technology strategies including project management and training for CRM systems
• Maximize investment of CRM systems and affect long-term database integrity
