Job Duties:

The salary for this position is $17.67 / Hourly
- Work with the Account Clerk Supervisor to oversee and train part-time staff in procedures and duties associated with operating Box Office during events
- Provide feedback to be used in performance appraisals of part-time staff
- Operate and maintain computerized ticketing and POS systems
- Accumulate and audit event data used in preparation of event settlement and invoicing
- Serve as the Supervisor on Duty by assisting multiple ticket sellers with refunds, POS issues and customer complaints
- Count, audit and report all cash and credit card sales during an event
- Reconcile and prepare bank deposits for daily revenues received in strict accordance with established accounting procedures
- Provide information to other City departments, clients and the general public to ensure that matters pertaining to accounting records are properly relayed
- Resolve customer complaints with tact
- Maintain a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
- Perform a variety of other box office, retail center, exhibitor services and other accounting functions as assigned
- This position requires an individual with the flexibility to work an irregular schedule as events are booked at the convention center and may include some days, nights, weekends and/or holidays

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS: High school or GED plus two (2) years experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities, such as clerical accounting or bookkeeping; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. May require a passing score of 30 words per minute on a typing test.

Preferences:
- Two years of work related experience overseeing in a cash office, box office or customer service environment
- Experience working with a Point of Sale system
- Experience maintaining records, preparing statistical reports and analyzing data
- Excellent customer service skills and experience working in a fast-paced office environment
- Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
- Proficient with 10-key calculator
- Ability to identify or improve procedures and efficiency
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to coach and mentor as needed
- Proficient in email, Microsoft Word, Excel, electronic ticketing systems and internet.
