The City of Valdez is seeking an energetic and organized Recreation Coordinator - Athletics & Aquatics to help lead our diverse programs, including aquatics operations, sports leagues, tournaments, open gyms, rock wall activities, and special events.
Under the supervision of the Parks & Recreation Director, the Recreation Coordinator develops, maintains, and supervises a comprehensive recreation program that includes indoor pool operations, aquatic classes, athletics programming, recreation activities, and assigned community events. This role is responsible for staff leadership, program development, facility safety, marketing, and supporting budget management.

Strong understanding of aquatics operations, safety standards, and recreation programming.
Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple programs effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two years of relevant experience
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or obtainable
• Valid Alaska Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

• Prepare reports and assist with budget monitoring.
• Promote programs and respond to public inquiries.
• Create and distribute marketing materials
• Monitor social media platforms and respond as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.
