SUMMARY
The Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for a part-time Yoga Instructor to lead yoga classes at a community center. Instructors will teach classes in the morning, with programs structured to fit the instructor’s experience and the needs of the community. Applicants should have experience teaching yoga and be knowledgeable in providing safe, effective instruction for participants of varying fitness levels and abilities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals ready to put their passion for teaching fitness into action.
- Applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to effectively conduct a fitness class.
- Lead up to 1-hour classes.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Current CPR certification is preferred.
- Fitness Instructor certifications are required for the higher compensation.
SALARY AND HOURS
- Certified Instructors are paid $35.00 per hour.
- Non-Certified Instructors are paid $20.00 per hour.
- Instructors can schedule classes in the morning and/or afternoon with possible evenings.

Physical Requirements - Physical demand requirements are at levels for those of active work. Regular performance of heavier tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces; bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching above shoulder level and working in confined spaces; lifting or carrying weights of twenty to fifty pounds; may require the dexterity to operate machinery or equipment.
Sensory Requirements - Tasks require visual perception and discrimination including color and depth. Tasks require perception and discrimination of odor and sound.
