Position Specific Summary
The Parks Events Worker at the City of Tucson’s Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the successful execution of events by setting up and dismantling audio, visual, and lighting equipment. This position requires occasional off-site work or support at remote events.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Parks Event Coordinator. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sets up and breaks down sound and lighting equipment for events.
- Manages crowd movement, parking, and safe public access and egress.
- Hangs event banners and signage as required.
- Ensures public safety and accessibility noting direction and access with materials such as gaff tape, cable ramps, and turf paint.
- Maintains cleanliness of the venue and ensures restrooms are stocked and functional.
- Operates city vehicles, including a lift truck and 15-passenger van, for loading and transporting equipment and supplies as needed.
- Provides excellent customer service to event organizers, clients, and vendors to ensure a smooth event experience and promptly addresses any concerns.
Working Conditions
Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
One or more years of experience as a stagehand, lighting director, or comparable role in the live events or music industry.
Familiarity with safety protocols and event logistics in large-scale public settings.
Comfortable working at heights, including on catwalks, using proper safety equipment and procedures.Must possess a valid Class D driver's license.
Ability to operate a lift truck and 15-passenger van.
Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
