What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrician - Water Pollution Control position at City of Topeka?
This position performs electrical work to remove, install, repair, operate and maintain electrical, HVAC and machinery equipment in wastewater treatment plant systems, lift stations and other related facilities. May also remove, install, repair, calibrate and maintain digital and analog electronic devices and equipment.
What youll do:
- Repair and replace electrical wiring and components
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Install and Maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience using electrical testing tools and hand/power tools.
- Is able to think clearly and act quickly during stressful events.
- Has an aptitude for technology or willingness to learn.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a journeyman electrician, preferably in a municipal or commercial environment.
- Must be a licensed electrician within the state of Kansas.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license and city insurable driving record. Please review the Insurability Guidelines.
Entry rate of pay: $26.70 $27.93, depending on qualifications
