The City of Topeka is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join its Information Technology team. This position plays a critical role in managing and maintaining Citys SQL-based database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across all departments.
What you'll do:
- Manage the full database management lifecycle, including design, implementation, monitoring, backup, and recovery.
- Implement and enforce database security policies in compliance with government standards.
- Lead or support systems integration projects.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A High School Diploma or its equivalent is acceptable WITH four years of SQL Server database administration experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Power BI, SSRS, SAP Crystal Reports, Tableau, Dash, Cognos, or similar reporting tools is required.
- Microsoft SQL Server certification for RDBMS databases (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) is preferred.
- Experience in a government or public sector IT environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., CJIS, NIST, or other governmental security requirements) is preferred.
Annual Entry Salary: $63,865 - $76,638
