Facilities and Fleet Operations Manager

• The city, with the engineering division serving as the project manager, is undertaking a 20-year facility master plan effort.  This position will be a key stakeholder in the process and will help develop a short- and long-term strategy to maintain the existing facilities and plan for the future.
• This position will work within a department that spans all public works services.  Not only will you get to work with, influence, and learn from other managers, but you will be supported by a communication coordinator, business management staff and an asset management team.
• Over the past several years, the department has embraced an asset management culture, one supported by data. This position will play a key leadership role in modernizing the facility and fleet divisions.  
• The Police and Public Works Departments are in need of new or improved facilities. This position will play a critical role in maintaining current facilities and simultaneously developing a strategy for constructing new facilities.

Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, to perform the essential functions of the position, may be qualifying. 

• A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in facility and fleet management, OR a related field with supplemental training in vehicle mechanics, facility operations, maintenance, and/or construction AND
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in fleet maintenance and building/facilities management or some combination that provides the necessary skills in the required areas AND
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years.

Schedule:  
Expected typical work schedule is from 6:30 to 5:00 Monday-Thursday. As this is management position with direct supporting staff required to be on fixed schedule, remote work is not available unless in rare circumstances.
