What are the responsibilities and job description for the FINANCIAL SPECIALIST position at City of Surprise?
SUMMARY
Incumbents are responsible for performing financial and administrative duties that may include but are not limited to; accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing financial reports and creating, updating and maintaining spreadsheets, reconciling accounts and expenditure reports, and ensuring critical deadlines are met. Incumbents support departmental events, meetings, and committees, including coordination, tracking, and documentation and may support the department’s ambulance billing/invoicing services with a contracted vendor. Incumbent will act as a liaison for and provide backup assistance to the Senior Financial Management Analyst and will often be tasked with time critical projects that entail working with highly sensitive and confidential information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field and two years of related fiscal support experience in area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
