What are the responsibilities and job description for the ENGINEERING REVIEW COORDINATOR position at City of Surprise?
SUMMARY
Under general direction, incumbents act as the single point of contact between the city and developers/customers for civil projects from beginning to completion. Incumbents provide guidance to developers, design professionals and staff during the civil process. Incumbents perform complex technical duties related to civil engineering tasks such as accepting, processing, reviewing, coordinating, and routing engineering construction permit applications and related documents for utility, capital improvements projects, commercial, industrial, and residential projects. In addition, provide support with processing permitting documents.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree and two (2) years of related experience in civil engineering, engineering plan review, project management, construction, building, trades, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position is required. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview.Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment screening to include:
