What are the responsibilities and job description for the CIVILIAN INVESTIGATOR position at City of Surprise, AZ?
SUMMARY
The Civilian Investigator investigates and manages an investigative case load and assists Detectives and Police Officers in various units to bring cases to closure. Some positions may be assigned to other units or special assignments. This classification performs a variety of tasks in support of specific, limited law enforcement activities in an investigative bureau of the Police Department. Performs investigative work including special assignments. Provides technical support to other units within the Investigations Division by conducting records research, organizing case materials, preparing subpoenas and warrants under direction, coordinating digital evidence, and maintaining investigative databases and timeline and at time assisting and investigating reports generated from the online portal.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required; and three years of investigative experience in law enforcement, public safety, or related field. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license
Must have or be able to attain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Terminal Operator Certification (TOC), Level B, within one week of hire.
