What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Skate Shop Attendant position at City of Stevens Point?
Position is 10 - 15 hours per week; evenings and weekends

- Responsible for serving patrons in a cheerful and professional manner.
- Preform transactions for admission and skate rentals.
- Knowledge of appropriately fitting skates.
- Store skates in an appropriate manner.
- Hand out helmets and skate aids as requested.
- Clean the Skate Shop and arena at the end of your shift.
- Check rental skates for blade quality and check/replace all skate laces and skate insoles as needed.
- Inventory First Aid Cabinet daily to make sure it is fully stocked/supplied.
- Keep all merchandise stocked and report any low count to your immediate supervisor.
- Manage skates to be sharpened in the appropriate manner.
- Answer the Skate Shop telephone.
- Follow accident procedures as stated in the K.B. Willett employee manual.
- Be responsible for opening and closing out of the Skate Shop cash register.
- Conduct work in a safe manner and adhere to all safety policies.
- Responsible to stay in the Skate Shop area when the Skate Shop is open.
- Must have and be able to demonstrate good public relation skills.
- Must be able to get along and work with fellow employees.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to work in cold, damp, hot, or loud conditions.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Must be able to bend, twist, and squat occasionally for 6-8 hours per day and be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
- Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to continuously walk or stand for 4-8 hours.
- Must have proficient knowledge of sharpening of both Hockey and Figure Skates, or be willing to learn.
- Must be able to operate the point of sale software and cash drawer.
- Must be proficient in mathematics.
- Must have the ability to work unsupervised.
