What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Skate Guard - Willett position at City of Stevens Point?
Position is 5 - 10 hours per week; evenings and weekends
- Be able to skate proficiently.
- Enforce Ice Arena rules and regulations on the ice surface as well as the immediate surrounding area. Be consistent with enforcement.
- Ensure the safety of all skaters during public skating sessions and assist all those who need help.
- Monitoring the attendees that have paid to skate.
- Ensure that the area around ice arena surface is in a clean and safe environment.
- Remain on the ice or within view of entire ice surface at all times.
- Be prepared to execute Emergency Action Plan.
- Record all injuries on an Incident Report Form in a timely manner after attending to the patrons' needs.
- Follow universal precautions for infection control as stated in the K.B. Willett employee manual.
- Assist in all janitorial work required after public skate times.
- Have knowledge of K.B. Willett policies and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
- Communicate with supervisors as needed.
- Must have skating ability to enforce rink rules and effectively aide injured patrons.
- Must have and be able to demonstrate good public relation skills.
- Must be able to get along and work with fellow employees.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to work in cold, damp, hot, or loud conditions.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Must be able to bend, twist, and squat occasionally for 6-8 hours per day and lift 50-100 pounds.
- Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to continuously walk or stand for 4-8 hours.
- Must be able to operate point of sale software and cash drawer.
- Must be proficient in mathematics.
- Must have the ability to work unsupervised.
