Are you a hands-on leader who takes pride in operational excellence and public service? Our Solid Waste Division is seeking a dedicated Lead Transfer Station Supervisor to provide working supervision and skilled support in maintaining transfer station operations and associated areas.
This is a working supervisory position where the selected individual will provide semi-skilled and skilled labor while leading daily operations within the Solid Waste Division. The position requires the ability to operate heavy trucks and a variety of equipment in a demanding and responsible work environment.
Tuesday – Saturday
7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

- Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules of the yard workers and Scalehouse workers. Answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
- Creates work orders; schedules and inspects work in progress.
- Maintains records of operations, repairs, installations, personnel equipment and materials.
- Over seer of all yard equipment.
- Orders personnel equipment.
- Can perform maintenance work, including the use of hand and power tools, mowers and other equipment.
- Performs landscaping maintenance and construction, repairs.
- Operates a front-end loader to load working materials onto a dump truck and within a job site.
- Perform regular and routine maintenance, cleaning, repairs and servicing of equipment. Reports major equipment problems to the Shop equipment maintenance supervisor.
- Be familiar with the Scalehouse operations; Point-of Sale CC machines and inbound and outbound procedures.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Requires High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state Commercial Driver’s License (Class “A”) with acceptable driving history OR obtain within 120 days of employment.
- Carry a Transfer Station license OR obtain within 120 days of employment.
- Obtain the TREEO Spotter course (8 hours) within 120 days of employment.
- Experience in Maintenance Supervision preferred.
