What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Initiatives Coordinator position at City of Springfield (MO)?
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate all activities and meetings for the Mayor's Commission for Children and the Healthy Living Alliance.
- Foster relationships with community leaders and other community health stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve priority community health and children’s issues.
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate assessments, policy and system changes to improve community and children’s health.
- The ability to build relationships and bring partners together to create meaningful change.
- Public Health Awareness as well as an understanding of the unique challenges facing our community's youth.
- A passion for advocating for resources, mobilizing decision-makers and driving forward initiatives that support healthy futures.
- The ability to communicate professionally - whether you are leading a meeting, writing a report, or speaking with stakeholders.

Experience, Education, and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration or a related field;
- Three years of responsible experience.
- Master’s Degree in a related area;
- Experience working with volunteers.
Licensing/Certification
- Driver's license.
